Welcome to Roswell Gymnastics...
... where the gymnast always comes first!

About  Us

Our Philosophy

Roswell Gymnastics strives to be a reputable gymnastics club that is recognized throughout the state, region, and nation for producing technically correct gymnasts through proper training in a positive and prof
essional atmosphere.  Our goal is to offer programs for everyone from beginner through highly advanced in an environment that promotes self confidence, skill mastery, and reward.  In a sport criticized for creating perfectionists, we encourage children to view mistakes, risk taking and setbacks positively.  It is through this philosophy that the experiences our gymnasts have in training and competition can help serve as a model to handling other challenges throughout their lives.  Gymnastics training can be rigorous, but the gymnast always comes first.   This means that in addition to providing a positive and safe training environment, we also encourage a healthy gym - school - life balance.  At Roswell Gymnastics, every child is a winner regardless of their personal performance.

Our Coaches

Roswell Gymnastics works hard to recruit and employ the finest coaches and
staff that will support and represent the philosophy of our program.  Our employees participate in continuous training in the physical and mental preparation of working with young children and athletes, along with the proper spotting precautions.  Staff members attend USAG State, Regional and National training clinics.  They also participate in and host in-house training programs throughout the year.  Maintaining up to date standards in skill development and safety awareness is a top priority for our staff. Coaches are trained in understanding the importance of the child, parent, coach relationship and how crucial it is to work together as advocates for our children.  Open communication is encouraged, and coaches make time regularly to speak with parents to share in the gymnasts progress.

Our Coordinator

Program and Facility Coordinator, Mrs. Cindy Furman has been involved in the sport of gymnastics and with the Roswell Recreation and Parks Department almost all of her life. The first student in the gymnastics program in 1974, she took classes and competed until she was in high school, at which point she began instructing. While in college, she coached all levels of gymnastics and was promoted to the supervisor over the Athens-Clarke gymnastics program in Athens, Georgia. After college in 1988, the Physical Activity Center in Roswell, Georgia was built. Cindy was hired as the supervisor over the preschool gymnastics program. In 1996, the Physical Activity Center was expanded to over 40,000 square feet and the Performing Arts program was added to our building. It was at this point that Mrs. Furman was promoted to the Coordinator over the entire dance and gymnastics program. Currently, the registration for the gymnastics program, which includes children ages 2 and up, as well as our competitive program through level 10 has approximately 2000 gymnasts.   This includes over 120 girls team members and approximately 65 boys team members. The Girl’s competitive teams include AAU 4, AAU 5, AAU and USA Prep op, USA 5, USA 6, USA 7, USA 8, USA 9, and USA 10.   Boy’s competitive USA teams are level 4, 5, 6, 7,8, 9 and 10.  Our Performing Arts Program (Dance) has an additional 1200 participants within the same age range. The Physical Activity Center also houses aerobics for adults.

Cindy has an extensive list of credentials. In addition to her 25 years of coaching experience, she is an AAU co-chairman for the state of Georgia and serves on the board. Furthermore, she is a Professional member of USA gymnastics and a National Instructor for USA gymnastics, who trains and certifies other instructors in the K.A.T. program (Kinder-Accreditation for Teachers). This means that she is able to teach other instructors the proper safety techniques and appropriate developmental instruction methodologies for toddlers up to young adults.

Cindy believes strongly that through the sport of gymnastics, we have the opportunity to enhance gymnasts' self-esteem and teach valuable life skills. It is our goal to provide our participants with an experience that will serve as a positive model to be followed as other challenges and obstacles throughout life occur. At Roswell Gymnastics, gymnasts are taught that their self-worth is not based on their performance, but about  doing their best...regardless of the personal outcome or the outcome of the competitor. Children that are taught how to view setbacks, mistakes and risk-taking positively have the key to a lifetime of success. Gymnastics with the proper instruction emphasizes all of these important skills while also allowing the child to exercise, set goals for themselves, make friends and have fun.

Along with our state-of-the-art facility and talented coaching staff, we are most proud of the gymnasts that call Roswell Gymnastics home.  We have developed many pre-Olympic level athletes, along  with numerous local, state, regional and national champions by emphasizing the correct values. Under Cindy's leadership, Roswell Gymnastics offers a program that delivers the highest quality gymnastics training while contributing to the overall positive development of each gymnast.
